Front Load vs. Top Load Washers

The choice of a front load washer vs. a top load washer depends on your own individual priorities.

Front Load washing machines are free of a center agitator which allows for better cleaning of clothes and are gentler on your garments in the process.  They are more costly than top loaders.  They use less soap and approximately half the water as top load machines.  Clothing is spinned drier, leaving less work for the dryer.  Front Loaders are stackable.

Top Load washers do laundry at three times the speed of a front loader.  However, they use more water and soap.  At the cycle’s end, your clothing is not as dry as the front loaders.  These washers are usually not stackable.

It would be nice to find out from my readers what features you like or don’t like about either the front load or top load washing machines.
